Goglia Trophy
Honoring Excellence in Aviation Maintenance The John J. Goglia Trophy Endowment Campaign
A national campaign is underway to endow one of the nation’s most prestigious awards dedicated to aviation maintenance: the John J. Goglia Trophy. Administered by the National Aeronautic Association (NAA), this distinguished honor stands as a preeminent U.S. recognition focused solely on excellence in technical expertise, leadership, and long-term advocacy in the field.
Why It Matters
Aviation maintenance professionals are vital to safety and innovation, yet their work often goes unrecognized. The Goglia Trophy helps change that by shining a light on individuals whose commitment and impact deserve national recognition across commercial airlines, aerospace, military, and business aviation.
A Trophy That Honors a Lifetime of Service
The award is named for John J. Goglia, the first FAA-certified mechanic appointed to the National Transportation Safety Board. With over 60 years in the field, John has spent his career improving safety, training, and technician support. He also co-founded the Aerospace Maintenance Competition, helping to raise the profile of maintenance professionals worldwide.
Our Goal: $200,000
We aim to raise $200,000 to fund the Goglia Trophy in perpetuity. This endowment will support everything from the selection process to raising public awareness and keeping the program going year after year.
If donations exceed the goal, we’ll create an aviation maintenance scholarship through the NAA to support future technicians’ academic and technical preparation.
