The National Aeronautic Association has been around nearly as long as powered flight—it is the oldest national aviation organization in the United States. NAA is a non-profit 501 (c ) (3) "dedicated to the advancement of the art, sport and science of aviation in the United States,” as stated in our Mission Statement. The core of NAA is its membership-thousands of individuals and dozens of organizations representing all segments of American aviation belong to our organization. The scope of NAA scope encompasses all areas of flight - from skydiving and models to commercial airlines and military fighters.

NAA is the record-keeper for United States aviation. Anyone who wants to set a record in the air must do so through our Contest & Records department. NAA provides observers for many record attempts and compiles all the data necessary to certify records. NAA also hosts an online database that lists all current records and record-holders...more about NAA
