The National Aeronautic Association has been around nearly as long as powered flight—it is the oldest national aviation organization in the United States. NAA is a non-profit 501 (c ) (3) "dedicated to the advancement of the art, sport and science of aviation in the United States,” as stated in our Mission Statement. The core of NAA is its membership-thousands of individuals and dozens of organizations representing all segments of American aviation belong to our organization. The scope of NAA scope encompasses all areas of flight - from skydiving and models to commercial airlines and military fighters.

NAA is the record-keeper for United States aviation. Anyone who wants to set a record in the air must do so through our Contest & Records department. NAA provides observers for many record attempts and compiles all the data necessary to certify records.
